Natural Dye Yarn｜Care Instruction

。Washing

Natural dyeing creates incredibly authentic and precious colors using natural pigments from plants. However, because it's a natural process, there are some guidelines to keep in mind, especially when washing and preserving those beautiful colors.

It's best to wash with plain water, but if you do need to use a detergent, make sure it's a gentle, neutral one. When it comes to drying, after spin-dry to remove excess water, air drying is more preferrable than sunlight drying, as strong sunlight would slowly fade the natural colors.

。Special reminder

In the Shangdrok Natural Dye series, it is common for the red color range to release yellowish water and potentially fade during the first couple of washes.

This occurs because plant dyeing relies on mordants to fix colors. In the case of the red range, adding mordants would turn it into a deep brown color. To preserve the desired red hue, mordants are intentionally not used.

。Natural dye paper yarn reminder

Since it's all paper, please avoid cleaning it as much as possible. If absolutely necessary, consider a gentle hand wash

using a "dabbing" rather than rubbing motion, and afterward, dry the paper yarn as soon as possible.
