Eri X Shangdrok 北方牧人
Muka 霧花 Kit
I have an image in my mind of a snowy sky on a winter night.
Snowflakes fall on the branches and eaves in the northern country.
Knitwear designer Eri knitted the winter forests into her design, capturing her special moment of blue.
Photo credit: Eri. Please note that the shawl in the photo uses mominoki yarn, instead of Shangdrok's yarn.
This is the scenery captured by Eri while she released this pattern in the winter of 2021.
This year, Shangdrok reinterprets her beautiful muka 霧花 shawl, with the color scheme inspired by the grassland full of wildflowers in the summer of the Tibetan plateau.
Seeing different scenery through knitting, is just like experiencing an unknown world through reading stories and novels.
What’s the color of your landscape in mind?
Shangdrok's hand-dyed Silky Yak & Superkid Mohair
The top part of the shawl is knitted with Shangdrok's Silky Yak.
The silk's sheen and its coolness to the touch, in addition with the softness and comfyness of the yak down fiber, it's the perfect yarn for sensitive skin around the neck, as well as for the transitional period from the summer, fall to the winter time.
The bottom lace part of the shawl uses Shandrok's dreamy Superkid Mohair Silk. The pattern created is just like delicate vines of a leaves , snowflakes or a insect's wing.
Superkid Mohair, notable for its high luster and sheen, goes perfectly next to our Silky Yak. Its gauzy effect contributes both extreme softness as well as volumn, you can use it as a thin airy shawl or fold it like a furry scarf!
