The Felt Shepherd Hat keeps the structured look of traditional felt while highlighting the soft texture of handcrafted yak felt. At the same time, it’s more convenient to carry, with a style that feels casual and everyday.
Because this hat is sewn from felt pieces, it can handle folding and short-term packing while still keeping its shape—making it much more practical than a blocked felt hat.
The brim gives plenty of shade without getting in the way of your view.
We’ve used persimmon-dyed cotton for the brim lining, giving the hat a cleaner silhouette while echoing the handcrafted mix of materials inside and out.
This combination offers the wind resistance and warmth of felt, while the cotton lining softens the look and keeps the inside comfortable, so the hat feels less heavy and wintry—making it wearable across more seasons and occasions.
For the head circumference, we wanted adjustability without too much stretch, which can cause excessive wrinkling and affect the look of the hat. That’s why we added a small Velcro strap at the back, allowing the size to be reduced by about 2 cm—so those with smaller heads can wear it comfortably without missing out.
Wide-brimmed hats tend to catch the wind, and a strong gust can easily blow them away—especially troublesome when your hands are full. To help with this, we sewed two tiny loops on either side of the sweatband. If needed, you can thread through your own cord or strap of choice to use as a chin tie.

。Washing
The hat can be cleaned either with spot washing (especially around the sweatband) or by washing the whole piece. Always use cold water and wash gently with a mild detergent.
For drying, you can use a gentle spin cycle in the washing machine (do not tumble dry). Alternatively, press out most of the water by hand (avoid wringing or twisting, as this may cause distortion), then use a towel to absorb additional moisture.
Reshape the hat while it is still damp—steam can help with this step and also smooth out wrinkles. For deep creases, especially along the brim, use an iron on the wool setting. Lay flat to dry in the shade with the crown facing down.
。Long-Term Storage
Before storing, gently clean off any dust or dirt. Place the beanie flat in a dust bag to protect it from moth damage. Of course, it’s even better to take it out from time to time, use it, or simply give it a little movement.
