Description

In Indonesian and Malay, "manis" means "sweet" and "lovely."For the designer Yamagara, it also brings to mind a small, cozy cake shop called Dona Manis, tucked away in memory.

Just like its name, this vest is light and charming—wearing it makes a subtle but distinctive statement.

Fingering-weight yarn is used to create solid-colored W-shaped stripes at the hem, adding a touch of weight to the bottom of the top.The sleeveless top is knitted with mohair silk, making it incredibly light and airy.Its sheer quality allows a hint of the dress or inner layer worn underneath to subtly show through, adding depth and texture to the overall look.

The main yarn is a hand-dyed mohair silk in a light base, sprinkled with soft specks of purple and yellow.Its translucent quality allows the outline of the garment underneath to peek through.For the contrast yarn, a deep purple ramie silk wool in a solid color is used—beautifully echoing the purple tones in the main yarn.The color combination is subtle yet thoughtful.This is a quick and satisfying knit—perfect for days that aren’t too cold.
